What are things that make Hyderabadis proud?

1. Well  we have the best Biryani in India for sure, nothing really comes close to the Hyderabadi version.
Biryani  , Haleem

We are proud of the fact that this is a city where the 14th century, co exists with the 21st century.

The museum was opened in 1990, and it was and still is Hyderabad’s only museum that is solely dedicated to science. It is a remarkable endeavour considering that science museums seem to have the stigma of being a nerd or geek place, far removed from the classical air that is usually given to art museums or natural history museums.

We are proud of the fact that Hyderabad was the choice for Google, Microsoft, Facebook when they wanted to set up shop in India.

We have the Ramoji Film City,  where movie makers can come, shoot, movies, get them dubbed, edited, processed. With ready made sets, studios, film labs, all well maintained, this is a film maker's dream come true.

More than anything else, we are proud of the fact that Hyderabad is accomodating, tolerant and cosmopolitan. It does not matter where you are from, as long as you have the skills and talent, you can make it. The reason why the city has been home to so many communities from Tams, Mallus, Kannadigas to Odiyas, Bengalis, to  Marathis, North Indian Kayasths, Punjab and people from the North East.  And that is the reason why a Haryanvi girl( Saina Nehwal), a Bong Lady( Sushmita Sen), a Marathi brahmin( Harsha Bhogle)  and  a left arm spinner from Odisha( Pragyan Ojha) have all become an integral part of Hyderabad.
Numaish

One more thing we Hyderabadis can be proud of is Numaish, the Industrial cum fun fair held every year in January-February, with it's myriad stalls, eating joints, rides, best place to hang out. It's colorful, noisy, bustling, and you see the true spirit of Hyderabad here. Burkha clad Muslim ladies, rubbing shoulders with pretty young misses in their halter tops, low waist jeans, familes with kids in tows and young bachelors, rich yuppies walking along working class people. Old,Young, rich, poor, middle class, middle aged, Hindu, Muslim, all barriers of caste, class, religion just melt here in this one big celebration.

 Some Other
Hyderabadi Hindi and Telugu - a unique set of words and clauses: Most Hindi speaking people find Hyderabadi Hindi/Telugu very amusing. Not just the words and clauses convey the message (and create a mild culture shock), they add a twist of amusement.

Hyderabadi "galli" music.
I have not lived outside of Hyderabad, but I know everyone who came from outside of Hyderabad complained about the noise levels of this kind of music. It is a band of players who play during all events - wedding or not that goes on until late nights. It is pretty noisy. Listen to get a headache - but again, I listen to this music at times to call in sick at work. This can qualify as official night life is some unfortunate areas.

Hyderabadi Cafes and Chaats. The roadside cafe shops sell a unique Irani Chai. The unspoken rule is to order 2 cups of it - divided by 3. It is also called "Cutting Chai". I simply cannot find this recipe online and proud of its origins in Hyderabad. Chaat are spicier and constitute the general fast food of the city.

Auto drivers are rude. I am not sure when this started, but I never once met a polite and a nice driver. I do not want to do small talk as such, but the drivers here are in-your-face-get-out rude. They will demand for a tip for Holi, they will say "No" when trying to get around during busy hours and they will be unreasonable when least expected. Period.

 People:
Hyderabadis accept/adopt any culture in the world no discrimination no local-non local feelings and helping nature.
Super cool Urdu mix Hindi mix Urdu slang. and easy going people
Food:
Hyderabadi Biriyani has the best taste in the world.
Irani Chai, Osmania Biscut, Samosa with salty green chilli
Life style:
Cheaper to compare with other metros. super long fly over and super fast metro construction.
Education and Job:
World class universities and colleges, and All major MNC companies in Hi-tech city. + Ameerpet

Hyderabad is the place where North meets South, East meets West, a true example of  unity in diversity, and that is what makes me a proud Hyderabadi..
